Have You Met... ? Monday (#16): Daniel Davis
I crossed paths with Daniel - the beardy gentleman behind the SteamCrow art which adorns several of my walls and a goodly number of my t-shirts - a few years back at Emerald City Comic Con. His art is unforgettable, and his personality is even moreso. He is a jolly gentleman, and honestly one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of running into at these many conventions I've attended.
Even if his art wasn't AMAZEBALLS, I'd be more than happy to promote it for him, though, to be fair, he's already very widely known and appreciated, so I don't even know how much more attention I could give him. BUT. I'm gonna do my best, regardless.
His work is engaging, clever, fun, whimsical, and just a tad dark - in all the best ways - and he puts his whole heart into driving his company ahead. He's fast becoming a staple at conventions, and we cross paths a good deal these days, it seems, which really just serves to tell me I'm headed in the right direction - because if I'm in his neighborhood, I'm among good people.
Seriously, my friends - - you HAVE to check his site out - www.steamcrow.com - look through his stuff and I dare you to try and find something you don't want there.
Also - - - getting his stuff in the mail is an extra special treat. I won't give any spoilers, I'm just gonna tell you right now that it's totally worth it. Support this man. He's awesome, his art is awesome, and his beard is also pretty friggin astonishing.
