New Day All Day Long
I once again am long overdue in an update. But in my defense, I’ve been busy. Busy busy busy.
With what, you ask? Well, for starters, I’ve gone back to school so I can catch up on a few promises I made to the all powerful Educational System, and, at the same time, expanding ye olden noggin. Been expanding my understanding of intercultural communication, political theory, philosophy and, if this isn’t too ridiculous, both Spanish and English.
I did some traveling, including going back to Mexico for the first time in a long while, and remembered why I love that country so much. If you haven’t gone, you must at least try.
Been consuming content - books, music, and the random video game, because - and don’t give me that look - it’s a whole wonderful avenue for storytelling and when it’s done well it can take your breath away just like any good story.
I’ve been indulging in some limited socializing, including playing in a couple different tabletop RPGs. Because apparently those just never get old if you find yourself in the right group of gamers.
And, hmmm… let’s see - -oh yeah, I FINISHED A BOOK.
Two, actually, if you count Automata, which I’ve decided to just publish here. Check the Automata tab and enjoy if that’s your thing. I sure hope it is or I did a lot of writing for nothing. It even has a playlist of music (which, confession time, all my books have), and I’m just trying to figure out how to do that. I’ll keep you posted.
As for the SECOND book, “Sea & Shadow”, it’s done. It’s off at the printer, so to speak, and as soon as I get the thumbs up, I’ll be printing up a proof to review and if the publishing gods are kind, it should be available for order by the end of June. Might even go crazy and set up a pre-order option. We’ll see.
Meanwhile, I’m already developing the next series, “THE REPOSSESSION FILES”, with book one “The Old Bones” already taking up a lot of my brain space. This one is gonna be such a darkly fun set of stories, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Still trying to find a way to publish my children’s book, “Princess Peanut, Be Polite”. Following a thread as we speak, and I’ll of course post an update when I have one to share. It’s such a beautiful book, with art by Rowena Aitken, and it’s really just.. I can’t even tell you how much I love this book without completely sounding hyperbolic. Which, you know, is weird for me. Heh.
Okay, and other than that, I’ve been really mad about political things, but I don’t want to take up this space with that. Just know that there are international things that are troubling me, and I really want people to stop being cruel and problematic with one another, and, I don’t know, maybe stop thinking that money is the root of all happiness.
But if you’ve read my books you probably already know (hopefully) where I stand with that. And if you don’t, just ask.
Okay. Infodump is over. Back to work. Or play. Or cooking. I’m just saying I’ve got options.
Be well, travelers!
