Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before...
I think it's time we took a moment to mourn the death of one of the unsung casualties of the internet. In this world of memes and photobombs and hashtag wars (points!), what has happened to... jokes?
Knock Knock, a guy walks into a bar, punch lines, dirty limericks, changing light bulbs, blondes, you name it... when was the last time you told someone - or someone told you - a joke? I'll confess, the most jokes I hear are on the television (been a while since I've been to a comedy club - the last show I saw live was probably George Carlin, so yeah), but actual personal, directly to me jokes? It's been a little while - certainly not with as much frequency as it used to be.
I learned recently (yes, from a facebook post) that the joke Bender is telling while he climbs along the ceiling in "Breakfast Club" was just an improv set up, and that there wasn't an actual punch line intended for it. That was a little disappointing.
So in the spirit of all things funny, I encourage you to think back on your favorite joke - and, when the moment's right, share it with a friend.
In person.
